The business problem comes first
A process can look simple on paper while depending on repeated copying, informal approvals, private knowledge and manual checks to keep moving. Those details matter because they often determine whether a new system will solve the problem or simply move it somewhere else.
Elekevu starts with the operating problem. We follow the work closely enough to understand the handoffs, records, exceptions and workarounds that have become part of the real process before recommending a change.
Independent by design
The job is to reach the most defensible next decision, not to create a software shopping list. Sometimes the evidence points to a new tool or automation. Sometimes the useful intervention is a clearer rule, a different owner, a simpler handoff, better visibility, or no further change yet.
Technology is an option inside the diagnosis, not the starting assumption.
Practitioner-led
Elekevu is led by Alan Kivuti. His background spans regulated operations, quality and safety systems, project delivery, customer operations, SME environments and applied AI. That mix matters because operational problems rarely belong to one department or one technology category.
The approach is practical: understand what people are trying to get done, identify where the process loses time or trust, and test whether the proposed change is justified by evidence from the operation itself.
A useful engagement stays narrow enough to inspect
The strongest starting point is usually one recurring problem that the business can point to: something that keeps waiting, getting copied, getting checked again, becoming unclear, or depending too heavily on one person.
From there, the scope should be small enough to observe properly. The aim is not to diagnose the whole company at once. It is to understand one operational problem well enough that the next decision becomes clearer and less risky.
Based in Nairobi, able to work across Kenya
Elekevu is based in Nairobi and works with Kenyan businesses. Some diagnostic work can be done remotely. Where seeing the operation in person materially changes what can be understood, an onsite visit can be agreed as part of the engagement.
